AI-powered posture detection, research-backed ergonomic cycles, and complete privacy — try it free for 7 days on Windows (macOS coming soon).
Crane uses TensorFlow.js with the MoveNet pose-estimation model to monitor your posture in real time through your webcam. The system tracks key landmarks — nose, ears, and shoulders — to detect forward head posture, slouching, and excessive forward lean.
EMA smoothing prevents false alerts from momentary movements like reaching for a drink. Confidence gating ensures that low-quality frames (poor lighting, partial occlusion) are discarded rather than triggering incorrect readings. Sigmoid scoring produces a natural, continuous posture grade instead of a binary good/bad classification.
When your posture degrades beyond the threshold, Crane sends a non-blocking notification — a translucent overlay that never steals focus from your work.
Crane includes 15 research-backed ergonomic cycle profiles, each designed for a different work style. Profiles range from 30 to 90 minutes and alternate between five activity types: sit, stand, walk, exercise, and stretch.
All 15 profiles are unlocked from your first launch, trial included. Each profile is built on peer-reviewed research in occupational health and ergonomics — not arbitrary intervals.
Crane processes your webcam feed frame-by-frame in memory using TensorFlow.js. No images are stored. No data is transmitted. No cloud backend exists. There are no accounts, no telemetry, and no analytics.
This is not a privacy promise — it is an architectural fact. There is no server to send data to. The AI model runs entirely on your local CPU. Your webcam frames are processed and immediately discarded.
Crane's notifications are translucent overlays that appear on top of your current window without stealing focus. They fade automatically after a few seconds. No modal dialogs, no forced pauses, no sound by default.
You can customize the overlay size, opacity, and position. Notifications respect your workflow — they inform you without interrupting you.
Crane auto-detects your system color scheme and applies a matching theme. You can also toggle between light and dark mode manually. The dark theme is designed for comfortable use in low-light environments, with carefully chosen contrast ratios for readability.
Crane supports 21 languages out of the box: English, Spanish, French (France & Canada), German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian (Bokmål & Nynorsk), Finnish, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). The entire interface — menus, notifications, profiles, and onboarding — is fully translated.
Every feature is unlocked from your first launch. The 7-day trial isn't a limited demo — it's the full app. After 7 days, a one-time $54.99 purchase (not a subscription) is what keeps it running.
