By using Crane, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
By downloading, installing, or using Crane – Posture Guard ("Crane", "the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Crane is a desktop application for Windows that provides real-time posture reminders and ergonomic cycle management. The App uses your device's webcam and on-device artificial intelligence to detect posture. All posture detection processing occurs locally on your device.
Crane is offered as follows:
Once your 7-day trial ends, Crane will not run until you purchase a license.
Pro license keys are non-transferable and may be activated on up to 5 devices. Devices that have not been seen for 90 days are automatically deactivated to free up slots. License keys are validated cryptographically on your device. Sharing, reselling, or distributing license keys is prohibited.
Crane, including its source code, design, branding, icons, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Crane Software. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal or professional purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or redistribute the App.
Your privacy is fundamental to Crane's design. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details. In summary: all posture detection happens on your device, camera data is never transmitted, and the only network activity is Pro license activation and heartbeat pings.
Crane requires camera access for posture detection. Camera access is optional — you may use Crane's ergonomic cycle features without enabling the camera. You can revoke camera access at any time through Windows privacy settings. Crane never records, stores, or transmits camera footage.
Crane is a wellness tool, not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Posture scores and alerts are approximate and based on AI estimation — they should not replace professional medical advice. If you experience pain or discomfort, consult a healthcare professional. By using Crane, you acknowledge that posture recommendations are informational only.
Crane is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of posture detection. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crane Software shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or health outcomes, arising from your use of the App. Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro license.
Refunds for Pro license purchases are handled through the platform where you purchased the license (e.g., Microsoft Store). Please refer to that platform's refund policy.
You may stop using Crane at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to revoke Pro license keys that are found to be shared, resold, or used in violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Significant changes will be communicated through app update notes.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Crane Software operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
