Crane is privacy-first. All posture detection happens 100% on your device. No camera data ever leaves your computer.
Crane uses your device's webcam and on-device AI (TensorFlow.js with MoveNet) to detect your posture in real time. All posture processing happens locally on your computer.

There are no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking of any kind. Free-tier users make zero network requests. App updates are handled by the Microsoft Store.
Crane uses Supabase (a hosted PostgreSQL service) for two separate purposes: Pro license device registration (hashed device IDs, license keys, and activation timestamps — no personal data) and storing the email address you voluntarily give us through the website's posture quiz or a referral link (see "Website Data" below). Crane also uses Resend to deliver the emails you've requested — quiz results, referral discounts, and license keys. Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record, which handles billing and card details directly; Crane never sees or stores them. Crane does not integrate with any analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers.
If you send a volume-licence enquiry through the form on our Crane for Teams page, that form is delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms, a form-relay service. Only the fields you fill in are sent. If you would rather not use a third-party relay, the same page shows our email address — writing to us directly reaches exactly the same inbox.
Crane requests camera access solely for real-time posture detection. The camera feed is:
You can revoke camera access at any time through your operating system's privacy settings.
Separately from the app, crane.blue collects an email address — and optionally your name — only when you choose to give one, through the posture quiz or a referral link (crane.blue/r/...). We use it solely to send you your quiz results, a referral discount code, or your license key. We never sell it, share it, or use it for advertising. Collection is based on your consent, given when you submit the form. Referral-lead emails are deleted automatically after 12 months, unless the referral led to a purchase — in that case the record is retained as part of our sales and commission records. Other email submissions are kept only as long as needed to serve their purpose, or until you ask us to delete them. To request deletion of your data at any time, email team@crane.blue.
The Crane app itself collects no data from any user, including children, and is suitable for all ages. The website's quiz and referral forms are not directed at children and are not knowingly used to collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted an email address through our website, contact team@crane.blue and we will delete it.
If we ever change this policy (for example, by adding optional cloud features), we will update this page and the date above. Any significant changes will be communicated through the app's update notes.
